Bike Tours
OPTION 1 / THE COMPLETE INTRODUCTION TO TULUM: Ruins, Beach, Town, Cenotes (5 hrs)
A slice of everything our home has to offer, providing a great overview of the area and lots of local tips.
With some asphalt, some dirt roads and some forest trails, you will see the variety of natural attractions and the cultural legacy of this exceptional town.
From exploring the history of the ancient port of Tulum, to oceanside cycling, cutting across wooded paths, riding through the backstreets of town and refreshing ourselves in the magical waters of a quiet cenote, this makes for the perfect day in Tulum.
OPTION 2 / Sian Ka’an Biosphere Bike Tour (7 hrs)
Cycle a thin strip of land bordered by empty stretches of beach, lush vegetation, lagoons and mangrove forest.
Just south of Tulum lies an incredibly rich and diverse nature reserve, an area where the underground freshwater meets the Caribbean. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its ecological importance, the mix of ecosystems provides a living and breeding space for a variety of fish, mammal, bird and reptile species.
We ride as far as Boca Paila, a vital point of convergence for many animals, where the lagoon flows out to the sea. The activities include an interpretative walk through the coastal vegetation, a boat/kayak tour through a section of mangrove forest and coastal lagoon, a refreshing cenote stop and some relaxing beach time. Lunch is a beachside barbecue among the coconut groves of an old-style Caribbean beach house, where we let the hottest hours of the day pass before hitting the road back.
